After working for several years in the health care industry, I decided to follow my heart and opened Twiggs Home & Garden in south Minneapolis in 2003. Numerous friends and colleagues had continually commented that the ordinary had crept into the marketplace of home and garden accessories—unique and inspirational items were becoming increasingly hard to find. The shop immediately caught the interest of gardeners, designers, lifestyle enthusiasts and local media.
At Twiggs, we have a passion for gardening and home décor, which you’ll discover in the varied offerings of indoor and outdoor embellishments that change seasonally. We also offer fabulous apothecary finds to soothe the body and soul. Our French soaps add a delightful surprise to the bath, especially when coupled with sprigs of aromatic herbs tucked into our little hanging glass bottles. Our French linens, which are block printed by hand, create endless tabletop versatility year round. For your outdoor living space, birch branches potted in our Mediterranean cast iron urn overflowing with lush moss will add a lovely accent. We are constantly on the hunt for unusual pieces and new design ideas, and we are proud to showcase goods from the United States, Europe and beyond, including a number of Minnesota artists and businesses.
I always enjoy sharing with you and other Twiggs customers my latest finds and how-to ideas, and my team is here to share their enthusiasm and expertise as well. Jake, my beloved Yorkshire terrier, joined the Twiggs team in July 2006 and oversees customer relations. In addition to Jake, I have a creative group of full- and part-time employees, all of whom never hesitate to give me their opinions on what I should buy and how it should be displayed.
